Tokamak Fusion Reactor Simulator
Interactive tokamak fusion reactor: watch magnetically confined deuterium-tritium plasma spiral inside a toroidal vacuum vessel, trigger fusion flashes, and tune magnetic field strength, plasma density and temperature to chase energy breakeven (Q=1).
Fusion energy has moved from a physics curiosity to a live engineering race: the National Ignition Facility crossed scientific breakeven in December 2022, ITER is assembling the largest tokamak ever built in France, and over 40 private companies have raised billions chasing a pilot power plant before 2030. This simulator visualizes the core mechanism every one of those magnetic-confinement approaches shares — a toroidal plasma chamber where powerful magnets hold spiraling deuterium-tritium fuel away from the vessel wall long enough, hot enough, and dense enough for nuclei to fuse. Adjust magnetic field strength, plasma density and temperature to see how each moves the plasma toward — or away from — the Lawson criterion and energy breakeven at Q=1.
