Kuiper Belt & Oort Cloud (2D)
Interactive 2D top-down map of the outer solar system: the flat Kuiper Belt and the vast spherical Oort Cloud, with real Kepler-orbit comet ejections, adjustable object counts, perturbation strength and a compressed-scale toggle.
This 2D top-down map lays out the outer solar system to scale: giant-planet orbits out to Neptune, the flat Kuiper Belt ring from 30–50 AU, and the immense spherical Oort Cloud reservoir beginning around 2,000 AU, all on a compressed power-law radius so everything fits on one screen — or flip to a true linear scale to see just how empty the gap really is. Switch between the Inner, Kuiper and Oort regions to re-center the view, dial the object count and perturbation strength, and turn on comet ejections to watch real Kepler orbits: short-period comets slingshot out of the flat belt while rare long-period comets dive in from any angle out of the sphere, with live readouts for distance in AU and orbital period from Kepler's third law.
