Gyroscope Spin & Precession (2D)

2D canvas companion to the gyroscope lab: drag spin-rate, tilt-angle, torque and inertia sliders and watch the precession rate respond live to Ω = τ / (I·ω).

This 2D companion drives the same Ω = τ / (I·ω) precession relation as the 3D gyroscope through a plain canvas view: sliders for spin rate, tilt angle, gravity torque and moment of inertia feed a live oblique-projection gimbal, a top-down trace of the circle the spin axis sweeps out, and a curve plotting precession rate against spin rate so the inverse relationship between the two is directly readable instead of just implied by the animation.

⚙ Under the hood

2D gyroscope precession lab: live Ω = τ/(I·ω) computation driven by spin-rate, tilt, torque and inertia sliders, with an oblique gimbal view, a top-down precession trace and an Ω(ω) curve.
