12 Cranial Nerves: Origin & Conduction Map
Interactive 3D map of the twelve cranial nerves: click a nerve to trace its true brainstem origin, see its sensory/motor/mixed classification, and watch a signal propagate at its real nerve-fiber conduction velocity. Includes a quiz mode.
A real 3D model of the brainstem with all twelve cranial nerve pairs emerging from their true anatomical level — forebrain, midbrain, pons or medulla. Click any nerve to trace its path, see whether it is sensory, motor or mixed, and watch an animated signal travel it at that nerve's actual physiological conduction velocity, derived from its dominant axon fiber class (Erlanger–Gasser classification) via Hursh's v ≈ 6d rule. Live readouts report conduction velocity, path length and conduction time in milliseconds, "Show all 12" lights up the whole map at once color-coded by type, and Quiz mode hides the label and scores how many nerves you can identify by their brainstem origin alone.
