Consciousness Upload: Neural Mapping Simulator
Interactive 3D brain scan: a mind-uploading scan front sweeps outward through a synthetic neural network, capturing neurons at a resolution you set. Watch reconstruction fidelity and synaptic connectivity diverge from a perfect digital copy as scan resolution, speed and network complexity change.
Uploading a mind to a digital substrate first requires solving a purely technical problem: scanning and mapping the brain's neural network in enough detail to reconstruct it. This simulator models that step directly. A synthetic network of neurons and their nearest-neighbor synapses floats in a scan volume, and a translucent front sweeps outward from its center, capturing each neuron it reaches with a probability set by the scan resolution slider. Adjust resolution, scan speed and network complexity to see how reconstruction fidelity and, more importantly, synaptic connectivity and overall coherence diverge from a perfect digital copy — illustrating why "we scanned the tissue" and "we preserved the mind" are very different claims.
