3D Synaptic Plasticity: STDP Volume
A two-layer 3D neuron network you orbit in real time: synapses render as glowing beams that thicken and brighten as spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) potentiates them, and thin toward darkness as it depresses them.
This is the three-dimensional counterpart to the Synaptic Plasticity & STDP Lab: ten spiking neurons sit in two orbit-able rings stacked front-to-back, wired into a single loop that runs all the way around the volume. Every synapse renders as a glowing beam whose radius and color encode its live weight, and a travelling pulse of light marks each spike as it crosses from one neuron to the next. Trigger a forward or reverse training pattern, or manually test one synapse at an exact spike-timing offset, and watch spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) thicken and brighten the beams it potentiates while it thins and dims the ones it depresses — with the same live Δw-vs-Δt curve and weight-vs-time chart as the 2D version, now next to a real 3D circuit you can rotate to see from any angle.
