Radio Tail Timer 2D: RRC State-Machine Cascade

Interactive 2D simulation of the mobile-radio RRC tail effect as a genuine 3-state cascade — IDLE, intermediate FACH, and high-power DCH — with two independent tail timers, cheap vs. expensive reactivation costs, and live battery, duty-cycle, and reactivation readouts.

This is the 2D companion to the "Radio Tail Timer" 3D simulation, and it models the phone-to-tower radio tail effect at a deeper level of detail: a genuine 3-state RRC cascade (IDLE → high-power DCH → intermediate-power FACH → IDLE) with two independent tail timers and two different reactivation costs, rather than a single idle/active toggle. Telemetry events queue on the device and flush to the tower once the batch threshold is reached; watch the state-machine diagram step through IDLE, FACH and DCH, the scrolling power strip-chart track instantaneous draw, and the battery, duty-cycle and reactivation-count readouts update live. Toggle Poisson jitter to see how bursty, irregular real-world traffic differs from a smooth deterministic stream, and compare the naive and batched presets to see how landing flushes inside the cheap FACH window instead of triggering full re-promotions changes the battery bill.

⚙ Under the hood

A 2D companion to the 3D radio-tail-timer sim, modeling the mobile-radio tail effect as a genuine 3-state RRC cascade (IDLE, intermediate FACH, high-power DCH) with two independent tail timers and separate full vs. soft reactivation costs, plus a live state-machine diagram and scrolling power/battery strip chart.
