Adaptive Bitrate Content Delivery Simulator (2D)

Interactive 2D simulator of adaptive-bitrate (ABR) mobile content delivery: watch a throughput-estimation and buffer-based algorithm pick the right quality tier for streamed rich media as mobile network bandwidth fluctuates, with live buffer and bitrate charts and a real measured rebuffering comparison against an always-max naive strategy.

Mobile apps stream rich content — video, high‑resolution images, embedded media — in short chunks that a content‑delivery pipeline can encode at several quality tiers. This 2D canvas build runs the same real throughput‑estimation and buffer‑based ABR (adaptive bitrate) algorithm as the 3D version against a fluctuating mobile network: harmonic‑mean bandwidth estimation, a configurable safety margin, and a buffer‑protection rule pick the delivered quality tier chunk by chunk, exactly as HLS/DASH‑style mobile content pipelines do. Live charts track buffer level and selected bitrate over time, and a naive "Always Max" stream runs in parallel against the identical bandwidth trace so the rebuffering‑event counters are a genuine, measured comparison.

⚙ Under the hood

Watch a throughput-estimation and buffer-based ABR algorithm pick the right quality tier for streamed mobile content as network bandwidth fluctuates, then compare it against always-max and always-min strategies.
