Coral Reef Growth Simulation (2D)

2D canvas coral-growth lab: recursive branching coral colonies grow segment by segment from the seabed while a fish school drifts past — depth, angle variance, growth speed, colony count and fish count are all adjustable.

This 2D companion mirrors the 3D version's recursive branch-growth algorithm on a flat canvas view: each coral colony starts as a single stalk on the seabed and repeatedly forks into thinner child branches at a randomised angle, with every segment revealing itself only after its own staggered growth delay elapses, so the fractal structure visibly builds itself outward rather than appearing all at once. A drifting school of fish loops past in the current while the reef fills in, and the side panel exposes branch depth, angle variance, growth speed, colony count and fish count as live, replantable parameters.
