QD Display Burn-In (2D Heatmap) — Barrier Permeation & Quantum Yield Decay

Interactive 2D top-down heatmap of a quantum-dot color-conversion display panel: moisture/oxygen diffuses in through an imperfect encapsulation barrier, quenching quantum-dot photoluminescence by Stern-Volmer kinetics and producing a real burn-in mura pattern that spreads from the panel edges. This simulator renders a quantum-dot color-conversion display panel as a live top-down 2‑D heatmap and ages it in real time. Moisture and oxygen diffuse inward from the panel edge through an imperfect encapsulation barrier, following Fick's diffusion equation, and locally quench each dot's photoluminescence quantum yield through Stern-Volmer kinetics. As quantum yield collapses, less blue pump light gets converted to the quantum dot's emission color and more raw blue leaks through — visibly spreading a dim, blue-tinted burn-in mura in from the edges, exactly the reliability failure mode described in real QD-display encapsulation testing. Barrier permeability, ligand/shell passivation, pump drive intensity and an aging-clock speed control let you trade off the four levers real display engineers use to push panel lifetime out, while live readouts track average quantum yield, panel luminance uniformity and elapsed operating time. Drag to pan and scroll to zoom into the flat heatmap view.
