Biosynthesis Assembly Line Simulator
Interactive 3D simulator of a modular biosynthesis pathway: watch an enzyme assembly line (polyketide synthase / NRPS style) add building blocks one module at a time to grow a natural product, with pathway type, module count and fermentation rate tunable in real time.
Antibiotics, terpenoids and alkaloids are rarely built by a single enzyme — instead a chain of enzyme modules works like an assembly line, each one adding or modifying one building block of the growing molecule before passing it to the next station. This simulator visualizes that modular biosynthesis: a carrier shuttles a substrate through a row of enzyme modules, a colored unit is added at every stop, and a completed natural product is released once the chain reaches the final module. Switch between polyketide, terpenoid and alkaloid pathway styles, change the number of modules, and speed up or slow down the fermentation rate to see how throughput responds — the same trade-offs real strain engineers tune in an industrial bioreactor.
