This simulator models a near-future life-extension technology grounded in real biology: inducing a reversible, hibernation-like torpor state to slow the metabolic processes that drive aging. Cooling a body's core temperature by even a few degrees exponentially suppresses metabolic rate under the Q10 rate law, and because oxidative damage accumulates roughly in proportion to metabolism, time spent cold "costs" less biological age than the same time spent awake. Dial in a target core temperature, a cooling rate, and how fast simulated time runs, then watch the 3D occupant's temperature and the swirling metabolic-activity particles respond in real time while two independent risk meters — cooling-rate cellular stress and deep-cold hypoperfusion risk — track the physiological price of pushing torpor too far, exactly the trade-off real synthetic-torpor research (NASA/DARPA spaceflight programs, hibernation-neuron studies) is trying to engineer around.
