This simulator renders a single capillary segment in 3D and models the Starling–Landis fluid-exchange equation that governs the vessel wall. As cytokine storm intensity rises, endothelial junctions visibly pull apart, letting plasma and then albumin escape into the surrounding tissue while intravascular volume, oncotic pressure and mean arterial pressure evolve in real time. Anti-cytokine therapy and IV fluid resuscitation are modeled as competing interventions, illustrating why fluids alone cannot fully compensate for a leaky vascular bed — the central physiological problem of septic shock.
