VR Surgical Force-Limit Trainer
Guide a virtual laparoscopic probe toward a fragile vessel. In visual-only VR you get zero physical sense of applied force and frequently tear the vessel; switch to haptic-feedback VR and a force-reflecting controller lets you feel resistance and stay inside the safe range. Compare live injury rates between the two training modes.
Guide a virtual laparoscopic probe toward a fragile vessel deep in a simulated surgical field. In haptic-feedback VR, a force-reflecting hand controller pushes back in proportion to the resistance the probe meets, letting you physically feel — and instinctively moderate — how hard you're pressing. In visual-only VR the same scene and instrument motion are shown, but nothing conveys applied force: the same push can silently cross into tissue-damaging territory. Run repeated trials to compare live injury rates between the two training modes.
