🩸 Blood Clot Cascade (2D)
A 2D cross-section of a vessel-wall injury: platelets adhere and aggregate into a plug while a thrombin/fibrin kinetic model stabilizes it against blood flow — or lets it wash away if the flow wins.
This 2D companion strips the 3D scene down to a plain vessel cross-section so the underlying hemostasis mechanics are easy to read: platelets flowing past a wall injury adhere and recruit neighbours into a plug, while a small thrombin/fibrin kinetic model runs in parallel to stabilize that plug — or, if the flow rate is high and the fibrin hasn't caught up, to let it wash away.
Platelet adhesion is probabilistic and driven by injury severity and platelet count; secondary hemostasis is modeled as two coupled rate equations for thrombin and fibrin, with heparin acting on thrombin generation rather than on platelet adhesion itself, matching how anticoagulants actually work.
