📡 IoT Sensors and Digital Recordkeeping for Apiaries
An interactive 3D hive rigged with a weight scale, temperature/humidity probe and wireless gateway, showing how sensor readings travel from comb to cloud and where the chain breaks down.
An interactive 3D apiary rig — hive scale, sensor node, wireless gateway and cloud backup — showing exactly how a weight and temperature reading turns into a searchable digital record, and where dropped packets or a paused sync break that chain.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Hive weight tracks a nectar-flow trend just like a load-cell scale; a sensor node samples on an interval and radios a packet toward a gateway, which relays surviving packets up to cloud storage. Some packets are lost in transit based on interference.
🎮 How to Use
Adjust nectar flow, sample interval, signal interference and ambient temperature, then watch weight, packet counts and cloud records update live. Toggle cloud sync off to see readings stall at the gateway instead of reaching permanent storage.
💡 Did You Know?
The most common reason apiary IoT kit gets abandoned isn't a bad sensor — it's a weak radio link or an unmonitored cloud sync that quietly stops working while the scale itself keeps reading correctly.
