🧪 Geography Gis Simulation
Interactive GIS map-algebra simulator: blend slope, land-use and road-proximity raster layers with your own weights to compute a live weighted-overlay suitability score, and see the best sites for a new facility light up on a 3D terrain grid.
Geographic Information Systems combine independent map layers into a single decision surface through weighted overlay, or "map algebra" — the same technique planners use to pick a hospital site or a solar-farm plot. This simulator generates three synthetic raster layers over a study area — terrain slope, land-use compatibility and proximity to the road network — each rescaled to a 0–1 suitability score. Adjust the weight sliders to see the combined score recompute live across a 3D grid, then use the threshold slider to reclassify the surface into a shortlist of the most suitable sites, highlighted in green, exactly as a GIS analyst would before recommending a location.
This simulation demonstrates the principles of geography gis simulation, showcasing how geographical information systems are used to analyze spatial data. It allows users to explore various geographic datasets and their visualization.
