GIS Weighted Suitability Analysis

Geographic Information Systems combine independent map layers into a single decision surface through weighted overlay, or "map algebra" — the same technique planners use to pick a hospital site or a solar-farm plot. This simulator generates three synthetic raster layers over a study area — terrain slope, land-use compatibility and proximity to the road network — each rescaled to a 0–1 suitability score. Adjust the weight sliders to see the combined score recompute live across a 3D grid, then use the threshold slider to reclassify the surface into a shortlist of the most suitable sites, highlighted in green, exactly as a GIS analyst would before recommending a location.
