Forensic anthropologists reconstruct a biological profile — sex, age-at-death and stature — from skeletal remains alone, using measurements and morphology that correlate statistically with known populations. This simulator builds a proxy skeleton from primitive geometry with four clickable diagnostic landmarks: the skull (brow ridge and chin shape), the pelvis (sciatic notch width, a strong sex indicator tied to childbirth anatomy), the femur (length, which predicts living stature through the Trotter-Gleser regression), and the epiphyseal fusion sites that mark skeletal maturity. Switch between four preset scenarios — an adult male, an adult female, a subadult with unfused growth plates, and a robust adult male — click each landmark to read its diagnostic traits, then compute a full sex/age/stature estimate and see how the underlying anatomy drives the numbers.

⚙ Under the hood

Click diagnostic landmarks (skull, pelvis, femur, clavicle) on a proxy skeleton to inspect sex/age traits, then compute a full biological profile: stature from the Trotter-Gleser femur regression, sex from a weighted brow-ridge/chin/sciatic-notch/gonial-angle vote with a confidence percentage, and age-at-death from epiphyseal fusion state across 4 preset scenarios.
