Lava Flow Regime Lab: Viscosity, Speed & Channel Formation (2D)

2D lava-rheology lab: an exponential viscosity law driven by temperature and silica content sets flow speed, width and cooling rate, switching a plan-view flow between fast wide sheet flow, narrow leveed channel flow and a stalling flow front.

This 2D companion drives the same temperature/silica viscosity law as the 3D lava-rheology lab through a plain top-down canvas view built for reading the physics rather than orbiting a scene: a side panel exposes eruption temperature, silica content, slope angle and effusion rate, a plan view shows lava parcels streaming from the vent and cooling from bright orange to crusted dark red as they travel, and a front-distance graph makes the difference between a fast-spreading sheet flow and a channel that crusts over and stalls directly visible over time.
