This is the same single-gene inheritance problem as the 2D Punnett-square simulator, viewed at the level of the actual cell biology instead of a probability grid. Two clouds of gametes — one from each parent — drift through 3D space, each gamete carrying a single allele produced when that parent's chromosome pair split apart during meiosis. When an egg gamete and a sperm gamete meet, they fuse into a zygote whose genotype and colour are fixed on the spot, and the zygote drifts away to join a running tally. Because fusion happens through physical proximity rather than an instant calculation, the textbook 1:2:1 ratio emerges gradually from many independent random pairings — exactly how it emerges in a real population, not just on paper.
