Kármán Vortex Street (2D)
The same D2Q9 Lattice Boltzmann (BGK) vortex-shedding solver as the 3D version, drawn straight to a plain Canvas2D pixel buffer instead of a WebGL texture — adjust flow speed, viscosity and cylinder size, then click the canvas to drop new obstacles into the wake.
This 2D companion runs the identical D2Q9 Lattice Boltzmann (BGK) fluid solver as the 3D version but skips WebGL entirely — the velocity, vorticity or density field is painted straight into a Canvas2D pixel buffer each frame with putImageData. Nothing about the physics changes: the same Reynolds number, the same bounce-back no-slip cylinder, the same vortex-shedding transition around Re ≈ 47.
D2Q9 Lattice Boltzmann (BGK) solver on a 320×160 grid, rendered with plain Canvas2D putImageData instead of a WebGL texture — same fluid physics as the 3D version.
