Helminth eggs and protozoan cysts — Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidium oocysts chief among them — survive ordinary chlorination and are a real driver of waterborne outbreaks, which is why treatment plants rely on a multi-barrier approach instead of a single kill step. This simulator renders a 3D treatment train — coagulation/flocculation, rapid sand filtration and UV disinfection — and lets you tune the coagulant dose, filter media grain size and UV lamp dose while watching individual (oo)cysts get captured at each barrier. Live readouts track the combined log-reduction value, the resulting effluent concentration and whether the plant clears the standard 3-log Giardia/Cryptosporidium removal-or-inactivation benchmark.
