Legacy munitions sites, unexploded ordnance and demilitarisation-plant discharge leave TNT and RDX residues in the soil, which rainfall slowly leaches into the water table below. This simulator renders that plume as thousands of individually tracked particles obeying the real advection–dispersion–reaction equation used in groundwater remediation engineering: flow carries them downstream, sorption to soil organic carbon retards them relative to the water, random dispersion spreads them into the characteristic plume shape, and biodegradation removes them over time. A fixed monitoring well 120 m downstream reports a live relative-concentration signal and flags whether the plume is approaching, at, or safely below a compliance threshold — exactly the question a site remediation team has to answer from real monitoring-well data.
