🐝 Bee Pheromone Diffusion: The Chemical Language of the Hive

Interactive 3D pheromone-diffusion simulation of a honeybee hive: a discretised diffusion field spreads queen mandibular pheromone from a fixed source and alarm pheromone from click-triggered threats, while worker bees react to the local concentration around them.

⚙ Under the hood

A grid-based diffusion field simulates queen mandibular pheromone spreading from a fixed source and alarm pheromone released at a clicked threat point, solving a discretised ∂C/∂t = D∇²C − k·C on each pheromone. Worker bees sample the local concentration around them, turning restless in queen-pheromone cold spots and swarming toward an active alarm cloud.
