Hierarchy of Controls: Residual Risk Simulator
Interactive 3D hazard-control simulator: toggle elimination, substitution, engineering barriers, administrative training and PPE, and watch a hazard-particle stream and the residual risk score (Likelihood x Severity) respond in real time.
Occupational safety programs rank hazard interventions by a strict hierarchy — elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment — because each level acts on risk differently. This simulator renders a hazard source emitting a live particle flux across a factory floor toward a line of workers, with a real engineering barrier and a residual-risk formula (Likelihood × Severity) driving every visual: flip elimination to shut the source down entirely, dial in substitution, barrier strength, training level and PPE effectiveness, and watch the exposure count, residual risk score and risk-matrix classification update in real time as fewer or weaker hazard particles reach the workforce.
Toggle elimination, substitution, engineering barriers, administrative training and PPE on a live hazard-particle stream and watch the residual risk score (Likelihood x Severity) and risk-matrix level update in real time.
