Cam-Follower Mechanism Simulator
Interactive 3D cam-follower mechanism: watch a rotating dwell-rise-dwell-fall cam profile drive a spring-loaded follower, switch between uniform-velocity, SHM and cycloidal motion laws, and read live displacement, velocity and acceleration.
Cams are one of the most fundamental building blocks of machine design: a single rotating profile turns constant-speed rotary input into whatever reciprocating motion a machine needs, with no electronics involved. This simulator renders a real dwell-rise-dwell-fall cam in 3D, driving a spring-loaded roller follower exactly as a physical cam would. Switch between the three classical motion laws — uniform velocity, simple harmonic motion and cycloidal — to see how each reshapes the follower's velocity and acceleration profile, adjust cam speed, lift and base-circle radius live, and read the displacement diagram and instantaneous kinematics as the mechanism runs.
