🧪 Rover Suspension Simulator (2D)
A side-view 2D companion to the 3D rover: three independent wheel stations each solve their own mass-spring-damper equation against a scrolling terrain profile, so drive speed, terrain roughness, gravity and damper stiffness all change ride height and body pitch through real physics, not a cosmetic animation.
This 2D companion collapses the 3D rover's six-wheel suspension to three side-view stations — front, mid and rear — each an independent mass-spring-damper solved every frame against the same additive-sine terrain profile as the 3D original. The damper-stiffness slider changes how quickly each wheel settles after a bump, the gravity slider shifts the resting ride height the way a lighter world would, and the resulting front-to-rear height difference drives the body-tilt readout directly, so the pitch you see on screen is a real output of the spring-damper equations rather than a scripted lean.
2D side-view rover suspension lab: three wheel stations each run an independent mass-spring-damper (m·a = −k·(x−target) − c·v) against a scrolling terrain profile, with speed, roughness, gravity and damper stiffness all changing ride and body tilt live.
