Energy Conservation Ledger — Bouncing Ball & Heat
Drop a ball with restitution and floor friction and watch kinetic, gravitational-potential and dissipated-heat energy trade places bounce by bounce while their sum stays exactly constant — a live ΔE = Q + W ledger.
A ball is dropped from a chosen height and bounces across a floor with an adjustable restitution coefficient and friction. This simulator keeps a live, gapless ledger of gravitational potential energy, kinetic energy and the heat generated on every bounce, and renders it as a single stacked bar that always sums to the ball's starting energy budget — a direct, hands-on demonstration of the first law of thermodynamics, ΔE = Q + W, and of gravitational potential energy Ep = mgh converting into motion and, ultimately, into waste heat.
