🔋 Tabless Cylindrical Cell Lab: Current Path, Internal Resistance and Heat in Large-Format Cells

Unroll the electrode foil of a cylindrical lithium-ion cell: solve the current path in a single-tab, multi-tab and tabless jelly roll, see internal resistance and Joule heat grow with winding length, and watch the core-to-surface temperature difference at 1C to 6C.

Unroll the electrode foil of a cylindrical lithium-ion cell (18, 21 or 46 mm) and solve the current path with a nodal resistor-network solver for single-tab, multi-tab and tabless jelly rolls: foil resistance versus winding length against closed forms, Joule-heat maps, anisotropic radial/axial heat conduction, core-to-surface temperature difference at 1C to 6C, wall versus base cooling, energy density and cells per pack. Inspired by publicly reported tabless large-format cylindrical cells; independent educational model with Blender-built assets, not affiliated with any company. Unlike the existing battery charge/discharge and thermal-runaway pages it models where the current leaves the foil.
