Microgrid Black Start: Swing-Equation Restoration (2D)
Interactive 2D microgrid black-start simulator: energize a dead island from a grid-forming battery, crank and sync a diesel generator, then restore critical, essential and full load in stages while a real swing-equation frequency response decides whether the grid holds or a stage trips back off.
A grid-forming battery energizes a dead microgrid island and cranks a diesel generator, which synchronizes after a real delay and begins responding to frequency error through governor droop. Restoring critical, essential and full load in stages steps the connected load up instantly, and a live 2nd-order swing equation decides whether the combined battery, diesel and solar generation can hold 50 Hz — restore too much too soon and under-frequency load shedding trips the stage back off, or worse, collapses the island entirely.
2D microgrid black-start lab: a grid-forming battery energizes the island, cranks a diesel generator to synchronism, and a real swing-equation frequency response decides whether staged load restoration holds or trips back off under under-frequency load shedding.
