Data Center PUE Simulator 2D — Power Usage Effectiveness
Interactive 2D data center energy model: tune server load, cooling setpoint, outdoor air economizer and renewable mix, and watch IT power, cooling power, PUE and CO2 emissions respond live. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom.
Data centers and telecom infrastructure are among the fastest-growing consumers of electricity, and the single number operators watch to judge efficiency is PUE — Power Usage Effectiveness, the ratio of total facility power to the power actually delivered to servers. This 2D top-down simulator models a 40-rack data hall: raise server load and the racks glow hotter and draw more IT power; lower the cooling setpoint and the chiller works harder; drop the outdoor air temperature and the free-cooling economizer kicks in, bypassing the mechanical chiller and pulling PUE down toward best-in-class values; shift the grid's renewable mix and watch the carbon-emission rate fall independently of PUE itself. Drag to pan the data hall and scroll to zoom in on the racks. Live readouts track IT power, cooling power, total facility power, economizer effectiveness, rack inlet temperature and CO₂ output as the numbers respond in real time.
