Dyeing, rinsing and finishing baths in textile mills are drained hot and immediately refilled with cold mains water — a huge, routinely wasted source of thermal energy. This 2D simulator models a real heat exchanger that recovers heat from the outgoing hot wastewater to preheat the incoming fresh water for the next batch, using the effectiveness-NTU method for balanced flow (equal capacity rates, Cr=1). A top pipe diagram shows the two counter- or parallel-flowing streams as color-coded, particle-animated pipes; a temperature-vs-position graph plots each stream's linear (counter-flow) or exponential (parallel-flow) profile along the exchanger, with an optional overlay comparing both arrangements side by side; and a small trade-off chart tracks recovered heat power against flow rate.
