🔍 Buried-Object Detection Physics: Metal Detectors, Eddy Currents and Ground-Penetrating Radar

A humanitarian-geophysics teaching lab on a Blender-built survey plot: an induction-balance metal detector (L-R eddy-current target model, X-R phase and ferrous discrimination, the 1/z^6 depth law from Biot-Savart, ground balance in mineralised soil, VLF versus pulse induction, sweep map and detection probability) next to ground-penetrating radar (v = c/sqrt(eps_r), reflection coefficient, hyperbola apex depth and velocity fit, attenuation versus resolution trade-off). Unlike the existing GPR survey, radargram, eddy-current brake and separator sims, it joins both methods on generic buried test objects (disc, scrap, pipe, plate, rock) with six measured-vs-theory checks including an FDTD solver. Educational physics only; real demining is done by trained professionals.
