🧪 Teaching Questioning Techniques Simulation
Interactive classroom simulator of Mary Budd Rowe's wait-time research: adjust wait time, question complexity and cold-call rate and watch a 3D classroom of students raise hands, get called on, and answer with quality driven by the model.
This simulator models Mary Budd Rowe's landmark classroom research on "wait time" — the pause a teacher leaves after asking a question and after a student starts answering. A 3D classroom of 24 students, each with their own thinking speed and confidence, reacts to the question type, the wait time you allow, and how often the teacher cold-calls instead of waiting for raised hands. Students who need more processing time than the wait time allows never get the chance to raise a hand; students who do respond answer with a quality driven by how much think-time they actually got. Track participation rate, average response quality and how many different students get to speak across a session, and see exactly why classic education research recommends waiting three seconds or more before calling on someone.
This is an interactive 2D simulation exploring teaching questioning techniques simulation.
