Digital Transformation Cascade: University Adoption Network
Interactive 3D threshold-cascade simulator: watch a new digital tool spread department-by-department across a university's collaboration network, and tune adoption threshold, seed champions and network density to see when a cascade catches or stalls.
Universities rarely adopt a new digital platform all at once — the rollout spreads across departments the way any complex social contagion does, gated by peer pressure rather than a single announcement. This simulator renders a university's inter-department collaboration network as a 3D graph and runs a Watts threshold-cascade model on it: a handful of seed champion departments start already using the new tool, and every semester the remaining departments check what fraction of their own neighbours have converted, adopting only once that fraction clears their resistance threshold. Tune the adoption threshold, the number of seed champions and the network's density to see whether the initiative tips into a campus-wide cascade or stalls out among a disconnected minority, with live readouts tracking coverage, newly-converted departments and average neighbour pressure each semester.
