Species Sensitivity & Dose-Response (LC50) Lab

Dial one pollutant concentration and watch five aquatic species — from a tiny water flea to a rainbow trout — respond completely differently, each following its own sigmoid dose-response curve and LC50, in a shared 3D pond.

Set one pollutant concentration in a shared pond and watch five species react in completely different ways. Each species carries its own sigmoid dose-response curve and LC50 — the dose lethal to half its population — so the same water can be entirely safe for a tolerant fish while being deep in the lethal zone for a sensitive invertebrate a few meters away. Drag the slider or click a species to jump straight to its LC50, and compare all five curves on the shared log-concentration chart.
