This simulator renders a landscape of habitat patches as a 3D field of forest fragments and runs a real metapopulation model over it: each patch is independently colonized or driven locally extinct step by step, following the same area-dependent extinction and isolation-dependent colonization logic used in conservation biology's incidence function model. Drag the fragmentation slider to remove and shrink patches the way land clearing does, widen or narrow the dispersal range to see wildlife corridors rescue isolated patches, and watch live counts of occupied patches, colonization events and local extinctions track whether the regional population is heading toward stable persistence or regional collapse.
