No-deforestation sourcing commitments protect a fraction of a supply region's land, but demand for the underlying commodity does not vanish along with the ban — it can simply relocate to unprotected parcels nearby, a phenomenon called jurisdictional leakage. This 2D counterpart models the same grid of forest parcels under a shared pool of sourcing demand on a pannable, zoomable top-down map: raise the protected-land fraction and watch how much of the avoided harvest actually disappears versus resurfaces elsewhere, controlled by a leakage coefficient and how rigorously the protected zone is enforced. A live demand-flow diagram breaks the instantaneous allocation into protected harvest, genuine reduction and leaked demand, while a time-series chart tracks total forest cover and the realised leakage ratio across the whole map — the same dynamic that jurisdictional and landscape-level approaches to supply-chain sustainability are designed to counter.
