Combined Sewer Overflow Simulator (2D Plan View)
Interactive 2D top-down schematic of a combined sewer overflow (CSO) system: raise rainfall intensity past interceptor capacity and watch untreated stormwater-sewage mix divert into a river outfall, with live flow, discharge and pollutant-load readouts, plus drag-to-pan and scroll-to-zoom on the plan.
This 2D companion to the 3D Combined Sewer Overflow simulator plots the exact same rational-method hydraulics from directly above: an urban catchment drains through a single trunk pipe into an interceptor/regulator chamber, which normally routes everything to a treatment plant — until the combined flow exceeds the interceptor's fixed capacity, at which point the regulator diverts the excess, untreated, into a CSO outfall on the river. Raise the rainfall intensity or play the design storm, adjust green-infrastructure retention and interceptor capacity, and watch live particle flow — colour-coded rain/sewage/CSO — reroute at the junction while readouts track combined flow, interceptor utilization, CSO discharge rate, cumulative overflow volume and BOD load. Drag to pan and scroll to zoom the plan.
A 2D top-down schematic companion to the 3D Combined Sewer Overflow simulator: the same rational-method rainfall-to-runoff hydraulics, viewed from directly above as an urban catchment drains through an interceptor/regulator chamber that either routes flow to a treatment plant or, once capacity is exceeded, diverts the untreated excess into a river outfall — with live combined-flow, interceptor-use, discharge, cumulative volume and BOD-load readouts, and drag-to-pan/scroll-to-zoom on the plan.
