Combined Sewer Overflow Simulator (2D Plan View)

This 2D companion to the 3D Combined Sewer Overflow simulator plots the exact same rational-method hydraulics from directly above: an urban catchment drains through a single trunk pipe into an interceptor/regulator chamber, which normally routes everything to a treatment plant — until the combined flow exceeds the interceptor's fixed capacity, at which point the regulator diverts the excess, untreated, into a CSO outfall on the river. Raise the rainfall intensity or play the design storm, adjust green-infrastructure retention and interceptor capacity, and watch live particle flow — colour-coded rain/sewage/CSO — reroute at the junction while readouts track combined flow, interceptor utilization, CSO discharge rate, cumulative overflow volume and BOD load.
