A city is rarely uniformly at risk during a heatwave: population density, income and age combine into pockets of much higher heat vulnerability, while cooling-center networks are often planned without that map in mind. This 2D top-down simulator lays out a procedurally generated city as a grid of blocks, each carrying its own population weight and vulnerability score, and assigns every block to its nearest cooling center under a nearest-facility model -- the exact same coverage math as the 3D version, viewed straight from above instead of in perspective. Choose how many centers to build, whether they're placed on a uniform grid or steered toward the most vulnerable demand, and how severe the heatwave is -- severity shrinks the safe walking radius, shrinking coverage. Live readouts track population coverage, the vulnerability-weighted share of demand left uncovered, and the average distance residents must travel to reach relief; a second panel plots every block's distance to its nearest center as a histogram against the current safe radius, while thin red lines on the map mark the most urgent gaps: vulnerable blocks outside anyone's reach.
