Dental Biofilm Growth & Acid-Challenge Simulator (2D)
2D real-time model of bacterial biofilm colonization on a tooth surface: logistic growth of the biofilm, Stephan-curve acid challenges triggered by scheduled sugar exposures, and a live demineralization-versus-remineralization balance shaped by brushing frequency, fluoride and saliva flow — a real, adjustable simulation, not a scripted slideshow.
This 2D companion runs the actual biology behind the 3D staged tour as a continuous simulation rather than a slideshow: biofilm density follows logistic growth (dB/dt = rB(1−B)) reset by a slider-controlled brushing interval, sugar exposures fire scheduled acid impulses that decay exponentially through saliva buffering — the classic Stephan curve — and a demineralization index integrates dissolution below the fluoride-adjusted critical pH against remineralization above it, so brushing frequency, sugar habits, fluoride exposure and salivary flow all measurably change whether the tooth trends toward a healthy balance or an active lesion.
2D biofilm-colonization model with logistic bacterial growth, a stochastic Stephan-curve acid-impulse schedule driven by sugar frequency, saliva-buffered exponential acid decay, and a fluoride-adjusted critical-pH demineralization/remineralization balance integrated in real time.
