Tooth Enamel pH & Mineral-Density Simulator (2D)
2D cross-section model of an enamel lesion: acid challenges drop local pH below the critical threshold and dissolve hydroxyapatite, while fluoride and mineral ions redeposit it — a real, adjustable net-mineral-balance simulation, not decorative animation.
This 2D companion models the real net-mineral-balance chemistry behind the 3D remineralization simulator: a 24×20 grid of independent enamel micro-domains, each integrating its own hydroxyapatite mineral fraction against a stochastic, frequency-controlled acid-challenge schedule and a slider-controlled fluoride / bioactive-ion supply, with diffusion-limited kinetics that slow ion exchange to deeper domains as the surface remineralizes — the same competition between critical-pH dissolution and supersaturation-driven redeposition that determines whether a real tooth surface heals or progresses toward a cavity.
2D enamel-lesion model with a stochastic Stephan-curve pH schedule, per-domain hydroxyapatite dissolution below critical pH, fluoride-lowered critical pH and accelerated redeposition above it, and diffusion-limited attenuation with depth and surface occlusion.
