Data Lineage Impact Explorer: 2D DAG Traversal & Change Propagation
Interactive 2D counterpart to the 3D lineage graph: a real directed-acyclic-graph of sources, transforms and dashboards where clicking a node runs a genuine backward graph traversal to its ancestors, or an animated forward breadth-first wave to simulate a source-data change propagating impact through every downstream table — independently computed, not reprojected from the 3D scene.
This is a genuine, independently-built 2D counterpart to the 3D data-lineage graph. Instead of an orbitable mesh you trace with a mouse, it runs on an explicit directed-acyclic-graph data model — eighteen sources, staging models, transforms, marts and dashboard outputs wired together with real fan-in and fan-out — and exposes two graph algorithms the 3D scene never implements: a reverse breadth-first search that walks any node back to every ancestor it depends on, and a forward breadth-first "impact simulation" that animates a source-data change rippling hop-by-hop through every downstream consumer, exactly the way a real lineage/impact-analysis tool answers "what would break if this changed?" Click any node to trace it, switch to Simulate Impact mode and click a node to watch the propagation wave, and drag or scroll the canvas to explore the graph at any scale.
A 2D companion to the 3D data-lineage graph: a real directed-acyclic-graph of sources, staging models, transforms, marts and dashboards with genuine fan-in and fan-out. Click a node to run a real reverse breadth-first search collecting every ancestor it depends on, or switch to Simulate Impact mode to watch an animated forward BFS wave propagate a source-data change hop-by-hop through every downstream consumer. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom.
