Digital Equity in Smart-City Security Policy

Interactive 3D network-diffusion simulator: watch a smart-city security policy (e.g. facial-recognition surveillance) spread awareness and participation across community groups with unequal digital access, and see how transparency and outreach can close the equity gap.

When a smart city rolls out a security policy — surveillance cameras, facial recognition, a data-sharing consent regime — how equally does awareness and participation actually spread across the community? This simulator renders 120 residents as a 3D social network split into three digital-access tiers, and runs a real network-diffusion model where each person's participation level updates from their neighbors' participation, a direct transparency channel, and a slow decay term. Drag the digital-divide gap up and watch the Low-access cluster fall behind; raise policy transparency or community outreach and watch the equity gap close. Live readouts track overall participation, the High-minus-Low equity gap, and elapsed simulation steps, with a full governing-equation breakdown in "How it works".
