This simulator models how a river's centerline migrates over centuries under the curvature-driven excess-velocity mechanism (Ikeda–Parker–Sawyer): outer banks erode, inner banks accrete sand into point bars, and bends amplify themselves until a loop's neck narrows enough for the channel to cut off, stranding an oxbow lake on the floodplain. Adjust the migration rate, the curvature-lag length that controls how far downstream bank erosion peaks relative to the bend apex, and the sediment deposition rate to see how each reshapes the meander belt, then watch sinuosity and cutoff count evolve in real time.
