Ocean acidification is not just a falling pH number — it is a falling ability of seawater to keep calcium carbonate shells and skeletons intact. This simulator solves the real carbonate-chemistry equilibrium (Henry's law CO₂ solubility, carbonic-acid dissociation, and the alkalinity balance) from three levers — atmospheric CO₂, sea-surface temperature, and total alkalinity — to compute the live saturation state Ω for both aragonite and calcite, the two calcium-carbonate minerals marine organisms build with. A branching 3D coral skeleton then grows when Ω is above 1 and dissolves when it drops below 1, giving a direct, physically grounded picture of why warmer, more alkaline water buffers reef organisms against acidification while colder, higher-CO₂ water pushes them toward dissolution.
