This simulator models Earth as a single radiating sphere in balance between the sunlight it absorbs and the infrared heat it radiates away. Raising CO2 concentration increases the atmosphere's ability to trap outgoing radiation — visualized as a thickening translucent gas shell around the globe — which drives the computed surface temperature upward following the standard logarithmic CO2-forcing relation used in climate science. An optional ice-albedo feedback loop shrinks the visible polar ice caps as temperature rises, darkening the planet and reflecting less sunlight, which further accelerates warming. Adjust CO2 concentration and solar output to see how each independently and jointly shifts the planet's equilibrium temperature and ice extent.
