Flux towers are the ground-based backbone of environmental monitoring networks that satellites and IoT sensor grids feed into: a mast above the forest canopy samples vertical wind and CO₂ concentration many times a second and turns their statistical covariance into a real-time measurement of how much carbon the ecosystem below is absorbing or releasing. This simulator renders the turbulent air parcels a sonic anemometer and gas analyzer would sample, colours each by the CO₂ it is carrying, and computes a live eddy-covariance flux estimate from the same Reynolds-decomposition mathematics real towers use — including the statistical noise that only a long enough averaging window can average away.
